Is IFRS S1 and S2 mandatory in the UAE?
What is mandatory today is the annual sustainability report that ADX and DFM listed companies must file under SCA rules, within 90 days of year-end or before the AGM. The ADX and DFM ESG guides are ISSB-aligned, so IFRS S1 and S2 is the recommended, best-practice basis, and the UAE is expected to move toward formal adoption.
What about the UAE Climate Law?
The UAE Climate Change Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024) is a separate federal mandate: all entities, including free zones, must report GHG emissions to MOCCAE by 30 May 2026. Use EcoLedger's Carbon Accounting Software for it, the same inventory also feeds this ISSB report.
Which emission factors are included?
DEWA and IPCC factors for Scope 1, 2 and 3, matched to your reporting year, with IEA grid factors for international operations. New factor editions are added each year and included with your licence.
